Food companies / Trade between Spain & Korea

On May 5th we started with a presentation from our Spanish exchange students about trade relations between Spain and the Republic of Korea.

This was followed by the student-team "Nestle".

Nestlé is a swiss company, established in 1865. The company is especially well known by its coffee brand, Nescafé, Nespresso and variety of products based on chocolate such as Nesquik, KitKat etc,. In 1939 Nescafé was launched in the UK and was an ‘instant hit’ allowing consumers to enjoy quality coffee without having to go to the trouble of roasting, grinding or percolating. In Korea, Nestlé was launched in 1979. Since Nestlé has been launched in Korea, Nestlé has tried to develop its products fitted with the Korean own taste. As a MNC, nowadays Nestlé focus on “Creating Shared Value”, which includes Cocoa Plan and Nescafé Plan. Both plans are a program purposed on supporting cocoa and coffee farmers who are still cultivating with traditional method, resulting decrease of yield. By giving high-yielding trees, Nestlé expects more income for the farmers, ultimately grate tasting for consumer and prosperity of the company.
